Hello,

I am not using usernames in my website. But I do not want to use the generated firstname-lastname usernames. Because when users don't know their username, it would to much extra work to reset password, since they first have to request their usernames.

So the best option would be to use the mail adress as a username. Is this possible? If so, how?

Thank you

Hi,
sorry this is not possible with a simple way, you need to hack some Easy Profile core file.

why this choice? Because required field (for Joomla) are:
Username: this is removed from option login type
Name (firstname, lastname): OK
Password: not possible (and not a good idea:D ) to use it as Username
Email: we can't use email because username is used also for SEF, and this cause a SPAM issue, Still a link like http://domain/profile/something@test.com.html is not good

it would to much extra work to reset password
Users can request reset password with email address.
The only problem is that in login form you will see also a link to request username, but this is not useful, you you can hide with CSS or template overrides.
