yes you can use only Easy Profile to register users but with some limitations:
- You can use avatar and profile link for Kunena with our Jomsocial Bridge, see documetation here https://www.easy-profile.com/docs/43-jomsocial-bridge.html (you can download it from our download area for free)
- You must be disable K2 Users from K2 options, go to Administration->Extensions->K2->Parameter(or Options)->Advanced tab. You cannot use Easy Profile avatar for k2 but if you want a comment solution you can try Komento from Stackideas, this is more powerfull and beautyfull (and it's free). http://stackideas.com/komento

You can try these on free version of Easy Profile.

1. I have deactivated the K2 users and now its almost working but am getting this error

I have tried all different image sizes but still getting the same error, What could be the problem?


2. If it doesnt work with K2 does it work with Kunena in a way that users who register using easy profile will have their avatars show in Kunena?

2. Yes, follow documentation and try it with kunena. This because Kunena have many plugin to integrate with other component, K2 not have plugin to do this.

You template override original Joomla com_users template, in override of registration in your form missing the attribute

enctype="multipart/form-data"

The file with the problem is /templates/your_template_folder/html/com_users/registration/default.php

I wrote the link just to make you understand the problem and how solve.

"your_template_folder" in your case is "purity_iii".

BUT with FTP account have seen that your template not works with normal Joomla override. So you can contact the developer of this template, you can simply ask where put the enctype="multipart/form-data" for registration form.
I don't know because they have omitted this, but from Joomla 3.1 this attribute is on original Joomla template.

another solution is to add Javascript code to do this like

jQuery(document).ready(function($){

    $('#member-registration').attr('enctype','multipart/form-data');

});
