Resolved Edit Profile not working

I am having a problem on the frontend with "Edit Profile". The profile info displays correctly, but when you click Edit Profile, nothing happens and you are taken to what appears to be a version of the home page... the url is:

/http://index.php/component/users/profile?layout=edit&;Itemid=101

try to create a menu item of type Users->Edit User Profile
