Ah. I updated to 3.10 and started getting strange behavior. I was going to post a bug, but now I will wait until your release to see if it fixes it. Glad I checked this thread!

Do you already have a date when the version compatible with Joomla 4 will be released.
I can't upgrade any website to Joomla 4 because the migration fails due to the EasyProfile.

Kind regards

You know guys, I actually paid for my subscription to your product that quite frankly is if little use to me now: I am not building anything but Joomla 4 sites.

That said, I'm also quite sure I'm not the only one in this situation.

As popular as this component is, you should easily know that.

While I can understand the launch of Joomla 4 was a moving target for a good long time, the fact that you guys can't seem to be bothered with at least respond to simple inquiries or offer basic updates on your product is, to say the least insulting to those of us who pay for your product.

If you're going out of business, just say so. You wouldn't be the first to bail, but don't keep us all hanging.

Hi,
we are sorry about this, but after the release of Joomla 4 we had to make several considerations. More precisely, our component (unlike many others) makes full use of the Joomla features to integrate with it. The choices were 2:

1) make it compatible. This was the first choice and also the fastest, but it posed some problems: the architecture of Joomla 4 is very different, so we would have to develop many (very complicated) integrations to make old things work (in the past, 4 years ago, we also replied to a user that we would work on a version compatible with J3 and J4 ... these were the intentions at the time). Unfortunately we realized that this choice is not long-lived, and requires to chase all the various modifications of Joomla making everything less and less efficient.

2) rewrite it completely: this is a long process, but it also allows us to change how it works to make it more consistent with the new Joomla features, for example a feature we are working on is the integration with Joomla custom fields, so as to have a unique management of custom fields. Keep in mind that our component was developed because until Joomla 3.6 there were no custom fields ... this makes it clear how the approach taken up to now was not optimal for future of Easy Profile.

I hope I made myself understood. I wrote this answer in one breath, but I didn't want to make you wait any longer.

It’s nice to hear you want to integrate EP with custom fields. But EP did not have this feature before, so nobody did use it (obviously).

Why don’t you publish a version of EP that will work with J!4 but does not use custom fields yet? You still could add this feature at a later time (yes, I’m aware that’s not a small task).

Nevertheless, unfortunately you still did not answer our main question: When will EP work with J!4?

Thanks.

We don't have a specific date, we work on it a couple of hours a day, and hopefully by the end of the year.

Hello
It doesn't all sound very professional. Could it be a little more concrete? What choice is made and when is it ready for joomla 4.0. December 2021 is fine for me but then I want to know for sure. If easy profile stops, let us know, then we will look for an alternative.

I hope easy profile will give more updates over the situation. I only want to know that i can trust easy profile for using it in the future with joomla 4.0. Now it sounds that easy profile is not sure about it.

So please a clearly answer a.s.a.p. that easy profile will be ready within 2 months for joomla 4.0

I am wondering how it will work exactly?

- Question #1: I assume that it would replace Joomla's basic default system?
- Question #2: Any plans to integrate easy-social with JChatSocial again (really need this)?

I have used the Joomla default custom profile fields, but they have limitations.
I surely need the following fields that Joomla does not have our has but is difficult to manage:

- Add a video field
- Add images field
- Add profile images
- EP Search Plugin
- Joomla Contacts

Looking forward to subscribing and trying out the new version of EP.

Hi,
the release date is scheduled for January 15th, we're almost there, a little more patience :)

Hopefully, they release Alpha, Beta, and RC versions before moving to Stable.
this process will be quick but obviously it has to be done. Easy Profile will be more integrated in Joomla and many parts will come directly from Joomla. An example is the management of the fields: this will be entirely managed by Joomla, which relieves us of a lot of tests and checks on the backend side instead the frontend won't be much different from the current one. Since the management of the fields is very different, the most delicate part is the migration tool.

I imagine everybody is eager to get started using EasyProfile for Joomla 4.
However, we ALL rather wait a bit to see it done right.

Take your time.
A few more days or another week is understandable.

I'm sorry and thank you for your support. I'm working hard and we're almost there. Unfortunately, sometimes you run into unplanned problems (for example a Joomla 4 bug) that require a workaround that takes me a few hours away. I promise you that I will release the version as soon as possible (within a few days). The goal is to have the stable version by mid-February

I rather they take their time; otherwise, users like you and I will be writing bug reports.
Others will install it on production websites and cry because their websites are down.
Then everybody will start giving the plugin a one-star rating on the JED.
Jokingly, you are interrupting Mozart while he is play playing Symphony No.41.
These people are the top coders on the JED; I can't wait for them to start a new different project?

I have been waiting for a long time as well.
One day a light bulb went off for a new website idea.
However, about 1 1/2 years ago, Joomla was about to SLOWLY, release J4.
I tested the idea on J3 and everything worked very well together.
However, I'd figure I'd wait for J4 to start that project than to upgrade from J3 to J4.
I have one non-production website ready to go for testing.
