Dear Friends,

I need for user registration identification number my country in this format (XXXXXXXXA) 7 numbers and a final letter.

It happens that if they put the final letter in uppercase or lowercase takes it as a different user. What I can do to stop it?

As you know the username field to have the attribute "Custom Format"

Thanks in advance

Sorry this is not possible, we can't add regex validation because this core field already have Joomla username validation.

You can do this with different way, the most simple is to use javascript:

You can put some javascript code like this in your template
jQuery(document).ready(function($){
$('#jform_username').change(function(){
jQuery(this).val(jQuery(this).val().toUpperCase());
});
});

With this all lowercase chars in username field will be replaced with uppercase chars

Thank you for responding so quickly.

Yes, always the final letter is uppercase. For joomla detected that can not be registered as there is a previous user with that number.
