You can add some code to check subscription into ajax_add function at line 69 on /plugins/jsn/socialnetwork/app/controller/Friendscontroller.php, if there is not subscription you can redirect on membership page.

Unfortunately we do not have access to the php.ini file, so we cannot make the changes.

We will try to use another way to solve this, please leave active FTP access for next 2 days.

Apart from that I have also noticed that whenever you send someone a friend request the person does not receive an e-mail notification.

The system will send a email when Friend Request is sent, but your problem generate a internal error and break the request process.
