Hello!
So I looked on the forum and found that these lines are solving the problem with browsers systematically autocompleting the new password field in the profile page. This totally screws up any update of the other custom fields I created with easy profile by not saving any modifications from my users. I know this not a problem from easy profile but can you please explain step by step to me where I should put those lines like I have no idea of what I am doing (actually I DO have no idea what I am doing :( ).

jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('#jform_password1').attr('autocomplete','new-password');
jQuery('#jform_password1 input').attr('autocomplete','new-password');
});

Thanks!

Hi,
we have decided to not change it, so also Easy Profile uses autocomplete="off".

You have to change Easy Profile password field, so in file /administrator/components/com_jsn/helpers/fields/password.php at line 43 and 64.

In my previous reply I have explained why Easy Profile works so. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Anyway I think that in the next release we will implement this. Because "new-password" is much more compatible with browsers than "off"

Hi,
we are aware of this, but it seems a problem with Joomla, Easy Profile extends Joomla user management (not replace it).

In Joomla the XML file that generate password field in the edit profile page is /components/com_users/models/forms/profile.xml.
In this file at line 38 it uses autocomplete="off" (instead autocomplete="new-password";). Unfortunately this is not compatible with all browsers.

Due to keep the same Joomla behavior we have decided to not change it, so also Easy Profile uses autocomplete="off".
