hi,

Is there a way to add a download link to the profile page? I can see a file upload field but no download field. here is what I am thinking. Some users may wish to download and perhaps print the Terms of Use. My thought was to just have a download link to a PDF. This would also later allow me to receive a signed agreement should one become needed. They could download, sign, scan and upload back directly from the profile page. I can see how the upload is done, but not the download, if even possible.

I know that perhaps the general view is to centralize downloads in one central area. I don't follow that principle because it relies on the user knowing upfront what he wants or needs. I am a believer that things should be available exactly when and where they are needed. If needed when requesting access, then there it is right on the page where you are requesting access. I think it makes for a better flow to the site.

Ok, thanks. Your message and attachments helped me to get the download working fine using the direct link. I look forward to when you get the trigger content plugins added, but how it is now is fine. Thanks.

You can use Delimeter field type for insert link to download PDF.

I tried that and it did not work. I only allowed me to link to certain media files stored under my site. I would prefer to use a download component to enable me to manage many files, folders and permissions. Then embed the download link from this component right on the Profile page, but it only displays as raw text. When I place on an article it works fine, but not on the profile page. Any idea why this might be?

Hi,
now you can generate the link from article and copy the link in delimiter field.

In the next release I will add support for trigger content plugins from other extension in delimiter fields.

I tried copying the link from an article into EasyProfile delimiter field but it does not work. It simply shows the link as text. That is the problem I am having, the download links all show only as text, and I tried 3 different download extensions with the same result.

Sorry but I do not understand what the difficulty, see images.

In any cases we will add support for trigger content plugins from other extension in delimiter fields in the next release. (2/3 days)
