This is happening when new users register when the username had not been used before.
It did however work.
Why am I having so many bugs? Theme collisions?

Hi,
this message is sent by Joomla (the registration form is the same of Joomla). Anyway there are similar issues (for example when you edit a profile) when there is not a correct routing, try to make sure to have following menu items:
1) Edit Profile (Users->Edit Profile), this could be access set to Registered
2) Registration (Users->Registration form), this could be access set to Guest
3) Profile Page (Easy Profile->Profile)
4) Social Network (Easy Profile->Social Network)

Hi,
I have tried and now there is not errors :D

Also one user managed to self approve somehow when it is set to admin/manual. Could this be related?
This seems a bit strange. Approval process is managed by Joomla, so it is the same with or without Easy Profile.

Easy Profile extends Joomla user management (not replace it), so registration and edit profile pages are the same of Joomla
