  2. Presales Question

I'm researching which extensions I will need for a slightly customized Joomla site. My client will need custom fields for his users, that I know for sure. But he will also need to edit these custom fields - and possibly make them so that the user can't edit themselves. The reason for this is that the users will be employees and the custom fields will be used for things such as commissions, bonuses, etc. So, my question is... if I also incorporate a front end user management plugin where the administrator can edit his users' profiles, will the custom fields also show up by default? Or would I need to alter the user profile view in Joomla to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Hi,
if I also incorporate a front end user management plugin where the administrator can edit his users' profiles
Easy Profile allow administrators to edit profile of all users from frontend, but this is limited. You can edit profiles but you see only custom fields available for the user you are editing (Admin from frontend can edit all fields that user can edit), so you can not have editable fields only for the adminstrator and not for the user. To do this you need to set to "No" parameter "Visible on edit profile", with this the field will editable only from backend.

Or would I need to alter the user profile view in Joomla to accomplish this?
Easy Profile extends Joomla User management (not replace), so registration/edit profile pages are the same of Joomla (tabs are generated by a javascript)

To test these features, we recommend you to try the free version.
