I just noticed that my front end was not saving Edit Profile changes. I have always had a Menu item for Easy Profile and an Edit Easy Profile. I could always save changes on back-end User Manager, and on front end Edit Profile (except when edit profile did not work because of the rokinject plugin problem already solved). Previously I had this problem and we had to turn off rokinject plugin. The the save Edit Profile changes worked again.

I use a form program to "register" new users. So there is no "regisration" menu. I have always only had the Profile and the Edit Profile Menu items in the Main Menu.

Note, I can still go to the backend User Manager, edit a User, make a change, and the changes will save in the back-end (and will then show up on the front-end). So my only problem is saving front-end changes using Edit Profile menu item.

***************

Problem - If I go to front-end Profile, then Edit Profile (using the button Edit Profile or my menu item Edit Profile, make any change and hit "submit", then I get this warning.

"Warning The username you entered is not available. Please pick another username. The email address you entered is already in use or invalid. Please enter another email address.

I want to keep username and email as is. But I tried to change username and email anyway using front-end Edit Profile, and these two changes did not save and I still get the same warning.

There are several other forum posts that say if you have a registration menu item, it should be set to "guest" and that the Profile and Edit Profile Menu items should exist too.

*********************

Although I do not have a registration menu item on the site, I set one up anyway with access set to guest to see if I could then go to Edit Profile to save changes to profile. But the problem still persists when saving a front-end change under Edit Profile. So I deleted the registration menu item, and I am back to just the Easy Profile and Edit Profile menu items.)

I also turned off the Global Config > SEFriendly, but the warning still occurs when saving a front-end change under Edit Profile.

Is there maybe a problem with the alias fields not matching the easy profile fields? Maybe that is why the Edit Profile is not saving?

(One of the above support posts stated that there was an alias problem, and the jsn_users table was rebuilt to match the fileds with the alias fields. But I am not sure if that is a problem here.)

see site details for login access. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
you have a fieldgroup "Step 1 - A. My Funding Application (Alias: default)" without fields, but this is a core fieldgroup and it need to have some field, otherwise it will be not available on frontend.

In this fieldgroup are contained some required information.

In recently versions of Easy Profile we have added a message error when "default" fieldgroup is empty.

thanks for quick reply. a few weeks ago all my field groups on back end Component > Easyprofile somehow moved to the top of the list when open easy profile component. i am unable to drag and move fields under the field groups if i select the joomla ordering drop down list. yet on the front end the fields are below each field group. is there a way to fix backend so the fields can be moved under fieldgroups. i used to be able to move them no problem.

thanks

Most of my Field Groups are "stuck together".

There is definitely a problem dragging and dropping by moving the fields around to the different field groups. I installed the latest version of Easy Profile over my existing version. Then I went to create a test user group to see if I could make new Field Groups and move the fields around to new Field Groups (in case my old one's were corrupted for some reason).

I am unable to create a new field group in the Easy Profile Component. The first line of my error message is:
Error Save failed with the following error: exception 'UnexpectedValueException' with message 'JsnTableField::_getNode(1, ) failed.' in /home/mywebsite/public_html/libraries/joomla/table/nested.php:1542 Stack

I don't know if this has to do with installing the latest EP version over the existing version, or if this relates to the Field Groups not allowing the fields to be dragged and dropped.

Hi,
sorry for late reply, it's a weekend for us.

problem 1
Solved, you field table was corrupted (missing ROOT record).

problem 2
Try now, the previous fix should be solve also this problem.

I am also unable to move existing fields to another field group by dragging and dropping
Drag & Drop allow you only to order fields in a fieldgroup, you can't change fieldgroup with drag&drop.

- if you need to change fieldgroup in one field then go to edit this field and set fieldgroup
- if you have several fields to move then you can use Batch process (you will find this button above field list)
