Hi,

I am trying to configure Easy Profile to force a new user to first verify their email address. This worked perfect under the base Joomla 3.2.1 prior to installing Easy Profile, but now I cannot get it to work at all. I tried changing the YES/NO setting under the global configuration but neither setting did anything. What is up?

Hi,
Yes but after update you must override socialconnect.php. we have not made any changes to this file and you can use the file attached via mail.

One follow-on question, with the changes made under this thread to force email verification, can I safely upgrade my EasyProfile Pro to the latest version, which is now 1.1.3? Thanks in advance.

I greatly appreciate your plan to customize to accommodate me. I look forward to it, but please no rush. As long as I understand the issue and know you will address, please take whatever time you need. I have much more work to do on this site this can wait, as long as I know. Thanks again. Great product, and even better support.

I understand,

our concept: checking email is only used to verify that the user actually exists (this was before the captcha on Joomla). This makes the login with social networks.

Also consider that on joomla the mail address can be changed once the user has registered (without any verification)
With Joomla is impossible(or difficult) to have a consistency of email.

The only component (I know) that allows you this could be community builder (119 €)

in any case, our mission is to help our customers, so on Monday or Tuesday we will try to customize for you our plugin.;)

I've tested, but can you provide me a admin login?
if you don't want: can you provide me a list of your installed components and plugin?

Social Connect don't have a possibility to verify email for 2 reasons:
- The email should be verified by the social network
- Allows your user to immediate login (in addition to registration)

If you want a mail verification go to Administration->Users->User Manager->Options and set "Self" on "New User Account Activation" params.
This is not a behavior of Easy Profile.
