Easy Profile extends Joomla user management (not replace), and the name is required by Joomla also during registration.

Easy Profile in addition allow you to split Joomla name in different fields like firstname,lastname and secondname; to manage this behavior you can use the parameter called "Name Style" in Components->Easy Profile->Options->Core Fields.

a)You add the obligation of lastname
b) you change the labels to English
c) you change the tabs

See the difference obtained if I disable easyProfil or not!
If you know how to rename the field "name" it would be top

this is not a bug, this is a normal behavior.

Easy Profile can use 3 fields to compose a Joomla name, firstname,secondname,lastname. You can set how to split Joomla name from parameter "Name Style" in Components->Easy Profile->Options->Core Fields.

So if you want to use only one field for name (like Joomla) then you can set "Name Style" field to "Only Name", this disable Easy Profile's core fields secondname and lastname and keep only firstname that you can use as Joomla name.
Of course firstname is still a Easy Profile field, so it have a own Title and it is positioned in the Easy Profile fieldgroup.
