Hi,
there is a conflict between JReviews and Social Network plugin, these extensions uses a external Framework with some function that have same name.

This is not something related to some update, Social Network plugin 1.1.3 was released many months ago.

unfortunately, this is not something that we can solve, because JReviews seems to load their framework in all pages (maybe you can try to disable all JReviews modules from Easy Profile page, maybe without modules it not load own framework).

Hi,
I have had Jreviews and Easy-profile installed for years and never had any issues.

I have contacted Jreviews and as far as they are concerned they have not changed any of their function names (see reply below).

Please could you be more precise with your answer and let me know what error it is that you see and what conflict you identified so that I can investigate firther.

Jreviews replies:
hi fabien Would be great if you could just write the error in the ticket because I don't see anything on the site. Just a page with no content.
Hi Fabien

What functions specifically are conflicting?

As you know JReviews has been out for over 10 years. We can't suddenly start changing function names for compatibility with a 3rd party plugin that the large majority of our clients don't use. It's not really our place to solve this as it's implied by the other dev.

Could you get back to me please
thank you
Fabien

Also us, version 1.1.3 was released many months ago, but basically our framework (and function name) is the same from 1/2 years.

What functions specifically are conflicting?

Error is: Cannot redeclare __n() (previously declared in /home/fabs15/public_html/plugins/jsn/socialnetwork/lib/Cake/basics.php:582) in [/home/fabs15/public_html/components/com_s2framework/s2framework/basics.php, line 184]
function name: __n()

TIP: To solve this conflict, you can try to remove all JReviews module in Social Network Page.

Hi,
found the problem, if you disable plugin called "System - JReviews ShortCodes", it works ;)

Probably this plugin load JReviews framework in all pages

I cant disable anything to do with Jreviews. Jreviews is the main component used for the entire site.

If easy-profile cannot rectify its code and correct the conflict, I will have to choose a alternative to easy profile and remove it from my site I am afraid.

Hi,
the problem is not Easy Profile, you can continue to use it to profile your users. The problem is the framework used by SocialNetwork plugin.

If easy-profile cannot rectify its code and correct the conflict
Maybe I can find some workaround to work on your site, but to do this we need an FTP account. If conflict is only referred to 1 or 2 functions this should be possible.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt reply, its appreciated.

Could you let me know the list of functions in conflict and where they are being called and I will change the code myself by renaming the relevant functions and their respective calls.

Thanks
Fabien

Sorry but for now I don't know, we need to debug your site, as I said "Maybe I can find some workaround to work on your site"
