Hello there.

My site is soon to be open to the world and I found that when someone would update there profile (like adding / editing text about them selves) it throws up a email and password Warning!

The steps I use for this to happen.

1. Login
2. Go to the user profile page
3. Then click to edit profile
4. Go to the field I want to update like "Introduction"
5. Then Submit
6. I am then confronted with the Warning.

To add, when the Warning shows it has already deleted the edited fields. so changing the email and password then means a user needs to go back and edit the fields again.

The only work around to edit anything on the frontend is to add a new email address and password. Then move on to the fields that need editing then submit. Hoping that the email and password are ok because it will delete all the edited field information.

Thank you.

Tony.

Hi,
this is a know issue.

If you create a menu link of type "User Manager->Registration Form" you must be create also a menu item of type "User Manager->Edit User Profile" or "User Manager->User Profile"

This happen because on edit page Joomla assumed Item id of registration and you cannot register user with mail of another pre-existing user.
