Resolved User map

Please help me make a user map - I am unable to do it following only your documentation.
I have latest Joomla! and EasyProfile Pro.


  • I have created a Text Field (called Address) in which I have entered user's address.
    • I have then created a Google maps field and selected Custom Field in the Options Google Maps Field tab and selected my Text Field (Address) here.
    I went to the EasyProfile Settings and have entered the Google API key which I have created with credentials for this domain.
    I then created a module User Map and selected my Google maps field in the Map Field.


Sadly, the map does not show any hits. Could you please advise me on any instructions online (I can't find anything useful in the forum) or tell me what I can do.

I am also sending you all necessary website information.

Hi,
the parameter "Search address mode" set to "Custom Fields" does not works in prefilled data. This parameter is helpful to search position on map from custom fields in registration/edit profile pages.

Hello. Is it possible to display an initial user map (before filtering users) only on a certain scale/location. To clarify: we only have few members abroad but because of them, the map shows entire Europe in the initial view. I would only like the map to display Slovenia (and perhaps some surroundings).

you can filter results only for a certain area with parameter "Filter by coordinates".

If I understand you correctly - I can filter, but then only filtered results will be displayed. There is no other way to define the initial map view then -?

yes, you have understand correctly.

There is no other way to define the initial map view then -?
There is a way but it is a bit complex, you can override map template and add a fixed center:
- Copy file from /mod_jsnmap/tmpl/default.php to /templates/your-template-folder/html/mod_jsnmap/default.php (or default_somethingelse.php**)
- Open new file and replace line 144 from 
jsnmap<?php echo $module->id; ?>.fitBounds(bounds<?php echo $module->id; ?>;);
to 
jsnmap<?php echo $module->id; ?>.setCenter(new google.maps.LatLng(45.1865021,9.1520086,14));
(of course you need to specify your latitude and longitude value)


*** if you call the file "default_somethingelse.php" then you need to choose it in the Edit Module->Advanced->Layout parameter, this is useful if you need this modification only in this specific module
