When I create a user from Joomla administrator back end I get the following error:
Save failed with the following error: Please enter your name.

This happens even if I fill the easy profile name fields

Should I configure something somewhere?

Ok I solved, you have selected a registered access for all fields. A new user have access only on public or guest fields.

access settings are used to:
(example 1)
you have a subscription system, when a user buy a plan go to an usergroup. This usergroup allow you to fill more fields based on access of this usergroup.
(example 2)
Do you have a forum with the moderators (join in a particular usergroup). Would you like a moderator is profiled in a different way from normal registered users.

In future i implement a possibility to assign on registered user a usergroup based to a field value.

Sorry for the delay in replying, but for us it is the weekend.

You must set core field on public.

Follow this step:
- Choose the firstname field (screenshot)
- Click on Batch button (screenshot)
- Choose Public on access drop down
- Click on Process button
