I am a little perturbed that there is no guarantee or refund on your product, Easy Profile.
All others that I have found, have one.
I am hesitant as I have to find one that will work with my AltaUserPoints Rules.
(Points are given to Users for completing Profile Registration, Logging in, etc.
Will these be affected?
Also does it check to see if the User Name is already taken?
Does it check to see if the email is already Used?

This is not our thing, this is a GNU/GPL license (so 99,9% of Joomla extensions). We only we care to explain well
The most of "No warranty" section in our TOS (https://www.easy-profile.com/policies.html) are copy and past directly from GPL license (https://www.easy-profile.com/license.html or in the official site at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html)
No refund
Some extension provider say "30 days money back guarantee", but in many cases it is not properly so, some providers require a technical reason to give you "guarantee" refund. and in the most of cases they reply "if you find a bug then we solve, so no refund".
Anyway, we are very transparent to avoid problems, so we explain well also refund policy.
Reasons:
- We offer Free version to evaluate our product, check compatibility and understand how it works
- All plugins and integrations (except Social Network Plugin) are available for Free.
- We are always available to give private demo access, and solve any problems.
- We keep very low prices (all our competitor are much more expensive)
About your questions
Easy Profile extends Joomla user management (not replace), so registration and edit profile page are the same of Joomla with many improvements

Also does it check to see if the User Name is already taken?Username works as Joomla registration/edit profile username, so it check this only after you launch a form (no ajax validation). You can test this with Free version.
