Hi, I just purchased the basic extension and it's great! However, I have two problems that I can't seem to get around:

1) I'm trying to create two lists for different classes of users. I created different user groups (group_id) in the user records, but I can get the list module to filter just one group or the other group. I've tried everything with the Custom SQL WHERE but no luck - I also created a custom field to differentiate the two groups, but still no luck.

2) The fields on the user list are hyperlinked to an expanded version of the user's profile. The expanded version of the profile has an "EDIT PROFILE" button on it. So any user change change any other user's profile. I'd like to restrict it so that users can see each other's profiles, but can only edit their own profile.

Please help -- I'm stuck on these two problems. Many thanks!

Hi, an update:

I've resolved the first issue - I found a thread that suggesting deactivating RokInjectModule - I did that and can now use Custom SQL WHERE successfully.

I'm also making some progress with the 2nd item -- I discovered the visibility setting which resolved my concern about users modifying other users profiles. Now I'm having difficulty understanding how to modify or eliminate the link from a user listing to the display of profile data. It shows up at the bottom of my page and I don't think the users will notice it. Is it possible to move it to another position? Is it possible to opt out of the display?

Many thanks!

Hi,
sorry for late reply, it was a weekend for us.

You can set permission to edit profile from administrator->Users->User Manager->Options->Permissions, from here you can set "Edit" permission for each group

I need to have exactly the same thing ... I purchased this component because I thought you could select different groups.

Hi audex,
I purchased this component because I thought you could select different groups.

Yes this is possible.

You can create a select list (or any other type of field) and set condition to set usergroup

Example
Create a field of type Select and set these options:
normal|I'm normal user
blogger|I'm pro blogger
moderator|I'm a moderator

Set these conditons in parameter of field

Conditon 1
Condition: Equal
Field to compare: Custom Value
Custom Value: blogger
Add to Usergroups: Author

Conditon 2
Condition: Equal
Field to compare: Custom Value
Custom Value: moderator
Add to Usergroups: Manager

NOTE: Registered group is always set for any users, this is set into Joomla User Manager Options.
