Hi,

is it possible to add a field to the registration where the users are required to enter in a code, and based off of that code they are added to different user groups, and if the code doesn't belong to a user group, they are not able to register? I have figured out the first part of my question by creating parameters and selecting a usergroup that users are added to if they type in a specific code that I provide, but the second part I can't figure out. I don't want them to be able to register if they don't enter in the specific codes.

Hi,
to do this the best way is to write User Plugin, this is not simple and require Joomla Devs and PHP Knowledge.

Alternative:
Easy Profile extends Joomla User Profile so registration page is the same of Joomla and you can use all Joomla plugins.
You can try "JRPassphrase" to do this
- Download Plugin and Module from http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jrpassphrase/frs/
- Install Plugin
- Go to Plugin Manager and search for "JRPassphrase"
- Enable and set in first paramter your Passphase to register users (you can ignore others parameters)
- Install Module
- Go to Module Manager and create a JRPassphrase module.

Now only with Code your registration form will be visible
