Resolved Social Network Plugin - Mail settings

This is not a bug, more a question
We have in the Mail Settings Mail Transport set to PHP Mail (see screen shot).
However, No emails seem to be going out to users about notifications in Social Network.
Is there something else I need to do ie Set up a CRON job?
There is not much in the documentation http://docs.easy-profile.com/index.php/article/social-network-requirements

No, it is triggered automatically when some users visit the page. Alternatively you can add a CRON job that load the page once a day like a user, this is necessary only for sites with very few visitors.

To check if email system works then you can try to make a friend request, this send immediately the email.

NOTE: it often happens that using PHP mail the emails end up in SPAM.
